AMD is keeping the pedal to the metal, as evidenced by a host of new processors name-checked in a DigiTimes report today. Probably of greatest interest to PC DIY enthusiasts will be the new Ryzen 8000 Granite Ridge processors, purportedly delivering Zen 5 processor cores in late 2024.

Samsung Talks 1 Petabyte SSDs: Thousands of Layers, Packaging Innovations

Being the world's largest supplier of 3D NAND both in terms of revenue and bit shipments, Samsung regularly adopts leading-edge production nodes to increase the bit density and capacities of its solid-state drives. At the China Flash Memory Market Summit, the company said that capacity of a single SSD can increase to 1 petabyte (PB, or 1,024 terabytes), but this is obviously not going to happen overnight.

DRAM Prices Dropped 20% in Q1 2023, Will Keep Falling in Q2

Average selling prices of dynamic random access memory (DRAM) dropped 20% quarter-over-quarter in Q1 2023 as buyers maintained conservative buying behavior, according to TrendForce. Memory quotes are set to drop even further — by 10% to 15% in Q2 2023 — with DDR5 prices declining more significantly than DDR4 prices.
